Colonial Michilimackinac Cannon Firing

Even with the Mackinac Bridge towers in the distance, standing at the brass cannon aimed over Lake Michigan with the wooden palisade of Fort Michilimackinac behind you transports you back in time to the 1770s. A historic interpreter takes you through the process of preparing the cannon for firing, and, when the fort is ready to open, the command of “FIRE!” is given and you fire a ceremonial cannon blast opening Colonial Michilimackinac for the day.

Colonial Michilimackinac Cannon Firing Mackinaw City The bearer of this ticket will be allowed to fire the opening cannon firing of the day at Colonial Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City, as well as receive general admission to Colonial Michilimackinac. Participant must sign a waiver of liability provided at the cannon platform. Participant must also be at least 13 years old at time of cannon firing. Meet at the Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor's Center 15 minutes prior to scheduled cannon firing time. All other members of your party must have valid admission to Colonial Michilimackinac.
